My issue is with the kit pieces that only have “unisex” sizing but are still required. It’s not unisex - it’s male. 15 year old girl bodies look absurd in them, and they’re uncomfortable.
Former club front office person here…. There may be some clubs that do this but by and large it’s on the manufacturer . Clubs are given a very slim set of options for what the kids can wear. When it comes to club uniform kits very few soccer apparel companies offered women’s cut uniforms. There is a reason for this companies such as adidas, Nike, etc. never believed in the economic value of women buying and wanting sports and uniforms apparel. If you listen to the stories of the USWNT from the 90s and 00s this has been happening for a looong time. The attitude has changed somewhat but there are still major elements of sexism within the apparel manufacturers. That is evident in the bizarre rigidity in using white shorts (fought like hell about that one-thankfully i won) It is also an issue with athletic shoes too.
