Former club front office person here…. There may be some clubs that do this but by and large it’s on the manufacturer . Clubs are given a very slim set of options for what the kids can wear. When it comes to club uniform kits very few soccer apparel companies offered women’s cut uniforms. There is a reason for this companies such as adidas, Nike, etc. never believed in the economic value of women buying and wanting sports and uniforms apparel. If you listen to the stories of the USWNT from the 90s and 00s this has been happening for a looong time. The attitude has changed somewhat but there are still major elements of sexism within the apparel manufacturers. That is evident in the bizarre rigidity in using white shorts (fought like hell about that one-thankfully i won)
It is also an issue with athletic shoes too.

Anonymous wrote:What's crazy to me is to have "sponsors" on the jerseys but families still have to pay full price. It used to be that the "sponsorship" paid for the jersey, which is why their name is printed on the jersey.

How? It's for two years, which is 4 seasons and a dozen tournaments. You people are delusional. You'll spend more on cleats over that time period.
Yes, but the cleats get worn out/outgrown. It's the "mandatory" purchase whether we need them or not that's ridiculous. So wasteful to have to buy new if the old ones are perfectly fine.
If your kid wears the same size after 2 years they are not under the age of 16.
Indeed they are. Sorry.

I always find it funny when soccer parents complain about costs like a few hundred bucks is highway robbery as well. That's a drop in the bucket for other sports' gear. Come back and complain when you deal with things like hockey, gymnastics, and dance on a competitive level and how expensive the costs of just the uniform/costumes/gear you have to purchase are.
All about perspective, isn't it?
Based on the rest of the entire globe, we spend way more on soccer than anyone else.
We have nothing exceptional or above and beyond to show for it.
