C-section was on Monday and it went so well. It was a calm day and somewhat relaxing minus the nerves. Everyone was so nice and I had my OB of choice and the whole anesthesia team was great. my nurse was the same nurse who saw me for decreased movement a few months back and she was phenomenal.

The anesthesia was great and I didn't feel anything. No tuggiing. Maybe some pressure right before they held her up like Simba. We got to see her through a clear drape and she wailed after a second. They took her over the warmer and her apgars were 8 and 9. I got to do skin to skin in the OR and keep her with me in the recovery room. The whole thing felt empowering in a weird way. Baby passed all of sugar tests the first 12 hours and that was such a relief.

Recovery has been so different than what I anticipated. I still had a catheter in until the following am so they didn't make me get up to walk to the bathroom until the next day around lunch. That was hard but the nurse was so helpful. Wednesday was hardest but I was also the most active once up it was fine but then in/out of bed or up/down on the toilet was rough. By  Thursday I was feeling pressure and sure it hurt to lower myself but other than that felt pretty normal. Got home Friday and been doing my usual around the place. It helps to have a cutie to look at and snuggle. I've even missed two doses of Tylenol/Motrin and been okay waiting until the next dose.

Now that baby is here I don't even think about not getting the vaginal birth experience. I'm just so happy she's here and healthy and that I'm able to be up and about caring for her and experiencing this
