DP, but it wasn’t ideal when there was lightning and teams were scrambling to pack up in a very crowded area. We had a couple younger swimmers unaccounted for and had no way to reach parents to confirm they’d left with adults. We had to walk far and then drive to reach parents to confirm. Maybe “dangerous” is dramatic, but lack of communication in that storm setting was stressful. [/quote]

We lost a young swimmer too when we clearly heard thunder and she went towards her car thinking the meet would stop.  No one could find her and her phone wasn’t working so even when the coach ran out to the street to get a signal, it didn’t help.  Also, several of us had children at home with no way to contact them/them to contact us in case of an emergency.  Something we weren’t  expecting but could have planned for if we had known there would be no cell service. [/quote]
