My daughter’s team played Potomac this year and they were clearly a good team with some great players but they also clearly lacked depth. I believe their play improved as the season progressed which is usually an indicator of decent coaching.
No, they got worse. The lack of good coaching really starting showing up in the last part of season.
You clearly have an axe to grind with the Potomac HC or the coaching staff in general. Potomac had a solid season. Losing to STAB in the final minute in the VISAA semi-finals (who ended up being the State Champion) is nothing to get your panties in a bunch over. As for ISL league play, I don't recall anyone on here really predicting the Panthers were going to dethrone the traditional juggernauts SR or Visi.
No doubt. Having watched Potomac for a few years and the players in the program outside of school on other teams, it seems to me the team is reasonably coached. I do think you can question where certain players are played on the field, and moving a player from attack to midfield and a midfield player to attack seems warranted, or how the offense flows, or defensive assignments, but this is the nature of coaching. It is a subjective business. Coaches are entitled to their opinions and so are parents and players.
