I’m a teacher who is highly skilled and highly credentialed. My employer needs my skills 55-60 hours a week, sometimes more. I solve problems that come up 15-20 times a day. And my work is extremely important. This imbalance is driving so many people out of teaching. Why should I work so hard for so little when I can get a job sitting around for more pay?
