OP here. Please, let's stay on topic. Let's not go off on a tangent about pro-life vs anti-life. It sounds to me like Trump was trying to stop abortion from being an issue in November, but Arizona's Supreme Court ensured that it will be an issue, in Arizona and beyond, due to the strictness of the law there. In other words, they would have been happier if this ruling had come about after November, when Trump would have potentially already been elected. Then it wouldn't affect the electability of Republicans throughout the country. Thanks everyone! I appreciate you helping me connect the dots on this one.
Do you have a daughter, OP? A mother, sister, granddaughter, a female friend of child-bearing age? If so, you cannot support a total ban on abortion unless you want to put your relatives and friends lives at risk should they ever become pregnant and for any reason need to have an abortion to preserve their health or save their life. Saving your life or the life of a loved one is a very real, personal matter that crosses party lines. Even the most die-hard abortion opponent would not allow a loved one to die if an abortion would save their loved one's life. In Arizona, no doctor will perform an abortion, even to save a woman's life, since that is a judgement call, and that doctdor could go to jail if a court of non-medically trained judges decide the doctor should not have made that call. That's why this issue will down the right-wing nut case GOP in 2024.
