What is known so far is that there was a fight involving a group of juveniles on the platform. A juvenile not involved in the fighting fired shots into the altercation, striking and killing the victim. 2 MTPD Special Officers who were at the station jumped into action.

MPD is currently coordinating with MTPD. Chief Smith shared that there will be increased presence in the area as they are actively working to solve the case. If anyone has information about this case, they are asked to call 202-727-9099 or text the anonymous tip line at 50411.

I know this is unsettling for neighbors and will be sharing more steps I’ll be taking with community partners to address the trauma caused by gun violence. I will also be doing everything I can to ensure the person responsible for this senseless killing is brought to justice.

It’s not “disproportionately”. In fact it’s proportional to the people committing crimes in this area.

Go to West Virginia or Southern Virginia and you may find a different type of person “disproportionately” ‘affected’ by crime.

And there's the rub.
The majority of POC are law abiding and suffer from being victims of these criminal POCs.
All the while, they are also being impacted by racism that can't (or wont) see they are two distinctively different groups.[/quote]
