I want my kid in a gifted program so he won't be held to the learning pace of the slowest students.  Many parents in low-income areas want to get in because they want to get their kids out of a low-income school without paying for private school.  Makes sense to me.

Anyone who thinks kids don't belong in the program if they have to prep for cogat doesn't realize how many kids who are there actually did prep.  [/quote]
