Under DC Code can only be held until 21, unfortunately. Same age girls killed the Uber Eats driver. One got held until 21, other got home confinement. Killing with bare hands and feet used to be a crime not committed by girls. Utterly horrifying.

Neighborhood knows who the man in the blue jacket is, likely are afraid of him.

Enforcing truancy laws without the proper supports for dangerous and violent children and teens leaves kids (and school staff) at the mercy of very dangerous and violent children and teens.  Are typical public schools equipped to support children who are this violent?

Not all truant students are violent like this, of course. I pray this is a very unusual situation. Still, there needs to be as much attention to keeping other children and the community safe as there is to supporting kids who threaten safety. [/quote]
