I was white and from a wealthy suburban high school and got accepted to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, CalTech, and MIT. I think there's a bias that URMs are the only ones who sweep the Ivies because they end up in the news for it when they do. If someone from an extremely disadvantaged situation sweeps the ivies, there's a news clip or newspaper article about it. When someone with lots of advantages in life(like myself) does it, it's not really newsworthy - it happens all the time and shouldn't be too unexpected. You just don't hear about it.[/quote]
