Agree it's obviously due to changing demographics. People from difference backgrounds are different heights.
Read the article! They addressed it.
I'm still skeptical. We've had massive demographic changes in the US since 1980 and plenty of white people are white Latinos or have some mixed race heritage but still look very white. Very hard to separate the demographic changes from everything else. I suspect there's fiddling with data or ignoring unwanted data to make the narrative fit. WaPo does this all the time.
+1 WaPo is a very biased news source. Demographics have changed. That said, it's not clear whether there are other issues such as food additives and pesticides, vaccine side effects, etc. also affecting height.
microplastics. Everywhere. Even found in newborn's poop. It's crazy and recent study there are way more (very alarming numbers of microplastics) in two well-known bottled water companies. They definitely cause harm in the body and interfere with hormones. Packaged food and fast food also have a very high number.
This is scary. DD got the covid vaccines and it changed her period. We had no idea that was even a possible side effect. I've had other permanent side effects from medications. It's alarming how little we know about long-term side effects from things we put into our bodies. The FDA is under a lot of pressure to approve medications. It's a big business with lawyers pushing hard so they can make their billions.
I decided on holding on covid vaxx for my 12 yr old DD who had not started her period at the time because there was not enough study done on prepubescent girls and how the vax would impact them. After hearing about how women's periods were being impacted, we (DH and I both) decided to hold off. DD was eventually fully vaxxed. DD is now 5.5" at 15, and still growing.
