She was already downsized and (fortunately) did not have dementia so she had done a good deal of preparation. Even with all of that, the clear out required multiple trips (D.C. to Florida). Despite a lot of success in donating, gifting friends/relatives, selling, consigning and having stuff hauled away, I reached a point where I had to give up and go back to real life. Which meant I hired guys to box up and ship to us way too much. Still working my way through the stuff (in our basement). But I am determined that our child (also an only) will have an easier job. Now if only DH were on board with me....[/quote]
