How long is the commute to the fed job?
I need to commute to DC close to Union station. Approximately 40 minutes, with all RTO there is no way to predict who will be given parking and who will not be.
If your new job is at 2Con, 3Con, or 4Con... the demand for parking in the buildings far exceeds supply, and there are few other options for parking in the area. If you don't get a parking space in the building, you will likely be driving into a metro station and taking the train from there.
Can't you park at Union Station?
You could, but then you are either taking the red line one stop or walking approximately a mile (I'm including the distance walked in Union Station, as I believe those who park have to exit through either the front of the station or the metro exit on the west side). I wouldn't consider Union Station to be "in the area" though it's not far.
