No one has to be physically hurt to be badly impacted. My kid with ASD has a flash pass to use when a meltdown is coming on. It should be in the 504 or IEP of any student with SN who is so dysregulated that it is impacting others. A lot of schools have rooms where the child can go to calm down through sensory support.
