Not saying teacher is in the right, but our k-8 not super exclusive private does similar because they realized the kids are the only ones who will take any kinds of mandates seriously. The parents are pretty entitled and can’t be bothered to read most emails, let alone sign things. There isn’t a punishment or even incentive for parents to step it up, but there are plenty of ways to get kids to take responsibility for their parents. The teacher overreacted but is almost certainly reacting to whatever happened in the classroom last year- it’s a guess but I bet the parents were bad about signing things, helping with projects, signing up for conferences, etc.
I'm not entitled. I'd left my reading glasses at work, and I was having a ridiculously hard time reading the small print. I take full responsibility for forgetting the glasses and missing the signature. It's all my fault, not my kid's. But it didn't happen because I'm entitled.
Then why didn't you send the child a note to give to the teacher telling her this,? Only an idiot has one pair of reading glasses. You can buy extras at the $ store for home, car, office, purse. Start using your head for something other than a hatrack!
My goodness, you're hateful. Go get some sun or something.
DP. I've got lots of reading glasses for different places. Most people do - that's why they sell them 2 or 4 at a time. "Couldn't find my reading glasses" is on par with "my dog ate it". OP may have learned something from this. Her DC may have learned something from this. Maybe.
I do to but it happens that I head out to work or to the store without them. This happens to all of us. Op I’d be on that teacher so fast.
