Stop being mean. I got vaxxed at age 45 a year ago, but doctors are often not that clear about it. When I asked five years ago, my gyn didn't recommend it. Now she does, probably because it is officially approved for older women now.

I think one issue is that some doctors assume women over forty are not getting exposed to as much std wise. I feel this is SO not true for women who are dating. Online dating makes it very easy for men to sleep around a lot. Even if you are not sleeping around, even if you are not doing online dating, the guy you are may be.

I would go ahead and get vaxxed.

I think men in our age group should be getting vaxxed too. It annoys me they are not. I think it's sexist - like oh it's not a big deal to treat so who cares. To me it DOES sound like a big deal to treat so why aren't we vaccinating everyone? Because HPV doesn't have many repercussions for most men. Though I would still get vaccinated if I was a guy because of throat cancer, penile cancer, and not wanting to be the jerk who gives someone else cancer or warts.[/quote]
