I easily believe she's a terror, but fat shaming? huh?
So weird. How could someone so fat fat shame others?
It's a stretch to say she was fat shaming, tbh. She and another person called a private meeting with a dancer. They told the dancer they noticed that she had gained some weight and that her heart didn't seem like it was in being on the tour anymore. They said sometimes when people gain weight it's from stress and they wanted to know if anything was bothering her. She told them she had an anxiety disorder and was dealing with that. They offered to allow her to miss rehearsals to attend therapy. She declined. She said in the complaint that she felt like agreeing to that would show them she was weak. I think a week or 2 later she was fired because her performance wasn't up to standards and her attitude remained terrible. That's not really fat shaming. There was another section I read where the actual fat shaming was done by the white European managers during the European leg of the tour. They were very racist toward the black dancers. They called them derogatory names and made fun of their weight. Things like calling them fat lazy pigs. They say that people in charge were made aware and they were told it would be handled. It never was. There's no confirmation that Lizzo was ever told about this by her people the dancers reported it to.
