The brain drain from places like Florida and Texas will be slow enough that it won't really be noticed until it's critical - that's my 2 cents anyway.

If the GOP continues to dominated in red states I think the quality of life (and cost of living) will improve in blue states and decline in red states but you won't see any real effects for 15-20 years. I think one more electrical grid failure may start to turn the tide in Texas, but I'm not exactly holding my breath. There seems to be a massive amount of ignorance and apathy among the citizenry that governmental actions are carried out through the officials they elect.[/quote]

The quality of life will improve if they get their homelessness and policing under fixed.  Beyond that, their increase of prices serves to push lower income people out of town.  Look at all these cities in California which have had declining black populations for decades.[/quote]
