The specific recommendations: • Friday, November 10, 2023, be changed from a Professional Development/Instruction day to an instructional day for all staff and students; • Thursday, February 15, 2024, be changed from a Professional Development/Instruction day to an instructional day for all staff and students; • Friday, February 16, 2024, be changed from a Professional Development day for staff to an instructional day for all staff and students; • Tuesday, May 14, 2024, be designated as a holiday in observance of primary election day; and • Wednesday, May 15, 2024, be changed from a Professional Development/Instruction day to an instructional day for all staff and students
There will probably be AP exams on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. What will they do about those being on the primary election day?
I know the AP Gov exam was scheduled for an MCPS day off last year, and I presume there was another one on the slate for that day as well. My DD’s school administered the AP Gov exam on the College Board’s makeup date, but I gather other schools had staff come in to open the building and administer the exams on the day off, so kids could take them on the official date. Not sure where the money came from to pay that overtime.
