Yeah, I’m bummed to hear that. I’m still confused why the last day is on a Thursday. They should keep a professional day on the Friday before President’s Day and end on Friday, June 14.
They probably will, or even the Monday after -- typically there are well more than 2 "snow" days that are used.
That used to be typical, but lately not so much.
Yeah, especially since they’re voting today to be able to pivot to virtual in certain cases (multi-day blizzard, etc.)

There will probably be AP exams on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. What will they do about those being on the primary election day?
I know the AP Gov exam was scheduled for an MCPS day off last year, and I presume there was another one on the slate for that day as well.
My DD’s school administered the AP Gov exam on the College Board’s makeup date, but I gather other schools had staff come in to open the building and administer the exams on the day off, so kids could take them on the official date. Not sure where the money came from to pay that overtime.

I guess since Monifa's not getting her full funding, she's already deciding where to pull back and those professional days are where she's starting. Not sure what training or PD is on the chopping block but she's transparent about that being the reason.
She also oddly mentions student learning being prioritized as a justification for pulling back on the PD days, which makes me wonder why that wasn't a factor when they made that call in the first place?
Maybe the pressures from Councilmembers asking for accountability on the piss poor literacy and math scores are shifting her focus.
