There was a thread last week about male babysitters. I can’t find it and don’t know where moved or zapped. I have two boys about to become teenagers. They have shown an interest in babysitting to earn some money. I hope there truly isn’t a bias against boys. That’s what I and my spouse had growing up! Had the best times too!
Out of all the options out there, it’s highly unusual that pre-teen boys want to babysit more than anything else. What other interests do they have? Of course there’s a bias against male babysitters for obvious reasons. You already know that. Just check out all the teachers who recently assaulted children. What percentage were female?? And there we are. Parents aren’t that stupid. Sorry.
Why say things that aren’t true? It’s not highly unusual for teen boys to want to babysit as it’s easy money and lots of the male babysitters I’ve seen play sports with the kids they are watching, and aren’t texting the whole time like their female counterparts.
