In general, you can’t kill someone over property. You can’t shoot/stab someone for stealing a car. The man was attacking a person so the stabbing will not be prosecuted.
In general, carjacking is not joyriding - it is a violent crime and the car driver can be injured or killed. Intervening in a carjacking is not "killing someone over property", it is protecting someone.
+1 WTF is wrong with people? A car jacking is not just a property crime. It’s not like someone hopped the fence of your backyard and stole your bike while you weren’t home. This is a violent assault on this woman. Even if he didn’t beat her, it’s still a violent crime to drag someone out of their car by force.
