Anyone who chooses to engage in criminal activity that involves harming others should be prepared to accept the consequences, whatever they may be.

Great news

Does this mean the park police officer who shot the carjacker from the backseat will not be charged as well? Similar situation.

This is great news. The last line of this article is alarming.....

"Motor vehicle thefts are up 105% this year so far as compared with the same period last year, from 982 reports to 2,017 reports, D.C. crime statistics show."

So, are all motor vehicle thefts lumped together? Does this number include carjackings?

You can’t shoot/stab someone for stealing a car.

The man was attacking a person so the stabbing will not be prosecuted.

In general, carjacking is not joyriding - it is a violent crime and the car driver can be injured or killed. Intervening in a carjacking is not "killing someone over property", it is protecting someone.

WTF is wrong with people? A car jacking is not just a property crime. It’s not like someone hopped the fence of your backyard and stole your bike while you weren’t home. This is a violent assault on this woman. Even if he didn’t beat her, it’s still a violent crime to drag someone out of their car by force.
