Most of DCUM gets middle class welfare in the form of the mortgage interest deduction and lower long-term capital gains rates. Even if you’re hit by the AMT, you still get lots of tax breaks.
40% or Americans pay no federal income tax at all. And it’s not the middle class. So please GTFO with that. https://www.forbes.com/sites/howardgleckman/2022/10/27/the-number-of-those-who-dont-pay-federal-income-tax-drops-to-pre-pandemic-levels/
Thanks for making my point for me. They pay no income tax because… mortgage interest deductions.
* should have clarified: some have income too low to pay taxes. But others take that mortgage interest deduction and don’t have to pay either.
Are you serious? You are comparing homeowners with people receiving public assistance? Gtfo
NP. Government money is government money.
Homeowners contribute to the state through taxes and etc. what is the contribution of a welfare recipient and their families? Please help me understand
So do poor people! Many people on TANF are in between jobs. You cannot be on welfare for years anymore. Majority of TANF use it to carry them through short bouts of unemployment. They have paid sale taxes and payroll taxes.
