obesity, drugs and alcohol
Yep. You have one of these conditions, your complications will be higher, no matter how good your medical care is. Medicine can’t undue the negative effects and treatment complications of these conditions
You have a lack of medical care and your complications will be higher. You have states that intentionally denied medical care to poor women and wow look at that, have higher maternal mortality rates. This is not happening by accident.
What are you taking about? Abortions? Because ANY and ALL pregnant women have access to medical care and Medicaid if needed. No one is being denied medical care while pregnant. Abortion is a separate issue and isn’t the cause for the higher mortality rates overall. Obesity, drugs, alcohol are. If can’t manage the basic of self care then you can’t expect medicine to magically make all things better and fine for you
Not really true. Still Many people who earn too much to qualify for Medicare but not enough to pay for insurance. Many hospitals (especially in red states) are cutting maternity services due to high expense and political interference in women’s reproductive health. Many doctors are avoiding ob/gyn specialty altogether now. Poorest women who can least afford to have more children on top of existing children, and more likely to be obese due to poor diet (with increased maternal complications, diabetes and heart disease) are disproportionately impacted by abortion restrictions.
