Neither of these are a safety because they are known to yield protect.  I believe Case is also need aware.  In any case, for very high stat students, you would  need to ED to these schools.  There are plenty of schools that are similarly ranked that do not yield protect which would make much better choices as lsafeties.[/quote]

So what are the targets for high stat kids, they are either reaches or safeties. Even those ranked 40 -50 cannot be targets

NE and CW are on so many students' lists. People need to be more expansive in where they apply. I think kids should stop applying EA to schools that also have ED. Those schools are just trying to increase apps. If your kid doesn't want to ED to those schools, then apply RD. But also apply RD to some less popular school. There are so many colleges/universities in this country. Why is everyone focused on the same 50-70 schools? The fact that NE got almost 100,000 apps is just stupid. The schools gaming the system should be boycotted. Schools with rolling admissions, ED, and RD are what we should encourage our kids to focus on. [/quote]
