They could replace the Common App essay with a timed essay written under proctored conditions. I would say ungraded because there was so much controversy about the grading. And send that to the schools. They could have a few prompts, so the kids spend a few hours writing one long and two short essays or whatever and College Board submits them to the school. They won’t be polished products , but everyone would be on equal footing and the consultants would not be able to write the essays.[/quote]
