I think the point is that they don't notice them one way or the other (which is what you seem to hope for, so it's all good), but when someone makes a point of the stuff and mentions the price tag, it's shocking and kind of ... sad.[/quote]

I think you're creating a kind of straw man because that's not at all what's going on in this thread. The women know full well what other women are wearing, and what it costs, and it offends their WASP austerity. [/quote]
