DAMN! Y’all need to chill! He doesn’t need YOUR forgiveness! What did he do to YOU? He assaulted Chris Rock, not you! Don’t get me wrong, I was shocked and disappointed by a lot of his actions that night. But DAMN, show him some grace! In the 20+ years that he has been in the public eye, he has walked the line. I’s like to thing that this one moment in his life does not define who he is. Again grace! I am so happy that my mistakes, were not done on TV for the world to see. If Mike Tyson can recover after biting off a piece of Evander Holyfield’s ear, then so can Mr. Smith.
Thank you. We aren’t defined by our worst moment in life or shouldn’t be. You’re the kind of person I could be friends with, not these other ‘perfect’ people on here.
No, we are not defined by pur worst moments; but we should make sincere and immediate amends. Not just PR apologies.
His apology the day after it happened was sincere. Also, we have no idea what he said to Chris Rock privately.
His apology the day after was not sincere. He was talking about acting to defend his family. No one in his family was threatened. He is trying to rehab his image for his upcoming movie. I'm glad Chris Rock is not engaging with him. I think Will Smith's career will recover, but it is still too soon right now. He will need to lay low. He must have forgot he had another Oscar buzz movie coming out when he decided to be violent in front of an international audience.
The entire apology was 4 paragraphs on how what he did was wrong, why it was wrong, and apologies to many poeple. he said why he did it in just a few words; it wasn't even one full sentence. Yet that's your only takeaway. He wasn't even defending himself, he was simply stating what caused him to react. He literally said it was inexcusable. I get it; no matter what he says or what he does it will never be enough. All that really matters is what Chris thinks.
