Sadly, it is real. They have done tons of destruction already where the purple line will be. I don't live in CC, but I think the entire thing is stupid. They should have done a proper metro line or nothing. This will be a super-slow light rail that will take forever to go anywhere. Why would I wait for a purple line train that will take 25 minutes to travel from Silver Spring to Bethesda (not to mention the waiting time until a train comes), when even during the worst of rush hour, I can get there faster.[/quote]

So glad we tracked down the maps online when we were house hunting last year--many house for sale would be severely impacted by the new line.  Two will soon have the tracks literally in their backyards.  We moved to NoVa instead.  Very happy.[/quote]
