You sound insecure. I guess it depends what you call bragging. If someone asks you where you live and how you like it, are you able to answer positively without it being bragging?

All of DC is like this. It is what it is but urban it ain’t.
Why is this a bad thing? In upper NW you get some of the benefits of suburban life (quiet, family-friendly, SFHs, green space) and you're still close to DC offices, museums, restaurants, etc. Lots of people actually want something between a Manhattan high-rise and an exurban McMansion
I wrote the previous post and completely agree with you. However, there seems to be a bunch of urban warrior wantabees here who try to make a big deal about how NW is not really urban. I think they look silly and think they pursue distinctions where differences are not really there. DC is what it is and I am ok with that as well.

Bethesda to SS is only one piece of the line. It's supposed to go all the way to New Carrollton.

Sadly, it is real. They have done tons of destruction already where the purple line will be. I don't live in CC, but I think the entire thing is stupid. They should have done a proper metro line or nothing. This will be a super-slow light rail that will take forever to go anywhere. Why would I wait for a purple line train that will take 25 minutes to travel from Silver Spring to Bethesda (not to mention the waiting time until a train comes), when even during the worst of rush hour, I can get there faster.
+1. A colossal waste of money. Another example of how Maryland can’t do anything right.

Well, that would be a really, really long metro ride. But you can take a bus, and it would take maybe 15-20 minutes. It would still be faster than the glacial purple line, which will travel at a whopping average speed of 15 mph.

So glad we tracked down the maps online when we were house hunting last year--many house for sale would be severely impacted by the new line. Two will soon have the tracks literally in their backyards. We moved to NoVa instead. Very happy.

Chevy Chase will be like Georgetown in 20 years, a has-been neighborhood that nobody goes to anymore because it's not conveneinet.
I hear you, but “has-been” is a bit unfair given prices in Georgetown are at all time highs.
