DP but the reality is that there are only two groups that absolutely hate him, the real estate sector and law enforcement.

For everyone else, he’s been from so-so to great.

He was much more responsible and displayed more leadership about COVID than the Council, who were both behaving irresponsibly and also using allowing Riemer to use COVID as a means to constantly attack Elrich.

You’re kidding right? The council during COVID was a mess. There is no way to claim that they showed any leadership on anything, except stepping in to ensure that HS football was played. But they could have taken stronger action, sitting as the Board of Heath, to set the policies. Instead they sat on their hands and Riemer in particular did nothing except complain that Elrich wasn’t copying that disaster in Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, in declaring the county was “open for business”. They also complained that Elrich was exercising fiscal restraint and not blowing stimulus funds on needless crap. Which is interesting context when you see people complain that Elrich is fiscally irresponsible. The council is absolutely worse and cannot be trusted.

What is interesting about Riemer was that the COVID experience in the county north of the Beltway was dramatically different and you’d think an At-Large member would be more attuned to that. Large portions of the county barely closed. Let’s not forget the disastrous “leadership” of Hucker. What a mess. COVID was the council at its absolute worst.  [/quote]

So what does do?  changes the order to permit live music, of course!

+1. I’m voting for Blair, but if the choice was solely between Riemer and Elrich I would probably hold my nose and vote for Riemer, solely because Elrich was so unbelievably out of touch with what families with kids were facing during the pandemic. I could never breathe a sigh of relief when CDC or the state relaxed guidance because inevitably Elrich and DHHS would have to put their own little special spin on it.[/quote]
