Sleepovers were some of my favorite times when I was a kid and my daughter now in college just said she loved being the fun house, the Girl Scout house, and the sleepover house. Tons of memories. It made me teary-eyed. My youngest is 12 and she has sleepovers at least twice a month. Here or other houses. Kids NEED socialization in person, now more than ever.
They don't need it, you do. It gives you a break. Fun house is code for drugs, alcohol, sex and partying.
Not necessarily! My best friends house was the “fun house” but not the party house. We did lots of sleepovers elementary-HS and I won’t say it was all innocent all the time there wasn’t drinking, drugs, sex or partying. Her mother is an amazing woman and we all love her dearly, she’s like a second mom to a lot of the women who grew up spending time at the house. I understand not wanting to do sleepovers and I don’t think they are necessary but I also think even teens can enjoy a fun house where they can relax, talk for hours, watch dumb tv and eat junk food.
Because not all adults are good people and not all homes are safe. And, often you don't know till its to late. Thats great her mom was a good person but that's not always everyone. You were lucky.
