This is such a tiresome argument. No matter how much you hate it, most people in the US celebrarte Christmas, which is also a legal holiday. If I lived in a majority-Muslim country, I would expect no school on Eid but school on Christmas. That’s how it works. [/quote]

The fact that they want to remove a secular, federal holiday from the school calendar because Christian's celebrate is just more proof that they want public schools to favor their religion over others. These new holidays on the calendar are religious holidays and serve no other purpose than benefitting followers of that religion.[/quote]
And maintaining staffing. Look at your schools, not just teachers, I’d bet a good number are Muslim. It’s hard to have a school day when you have a significant number of bus drivers, cafeteria workers, extended day staff, assistants and teachers taking the day off. [/quote]

Excessive absences is a secular reason that would justify  no school on a holiday. But that’s nots what’s going on and even if it was no reason for it to be a blanket rule across the district. The cultural makeup of schools are different so different holidays being a day off may be called for. [/quote]
