It's actually kind of odd that alcohol has been legalized but marijuana isn't. Alcohol is far more likely to kill or lead to violence. https://www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-48826510
The chief of the Montgomery County police department says that most murders in the county are related to weed.
Specifically because it’s illegal. Legalize it and you’ll see drug related crime drop. I lived in Colorado. It didn’t smell like weed everywhere. Most people used edibles, tinctures, or vape. Like alcohol, marijuana has to be consumed responsibly. The tax benefits are huge for the state. Mississippi was one of the first states to decriminalize. And they are about to legalize it. Mississippi….perhaps the most conservative state in the nation. Weed is a multi-billion dollar business. It’s happening.
Since you say you lived in Colorado, you may want to be more knowledgeable about what’s going on there. I would also add that Maryland is not Colorado and the beauty of this country is that it’s a big place that affords lots of choices. If you like Colorado, you are more than welcome to stay there. https://gazette.com/news/colorado-killer-who-blames-marijuana-edible-for-wifes-murder-speaks-out/article_759adab0-e8f5-11e8-a082-5f5d85d86923.amp.html
Richard Kirk murdered his wife in 2014 and is speaking out from prison for the first time about the marijuana edible he says caused him to do it. Meanwhile, new research at one Colorado hospital sheds light on edibles and psychosis.

I call bullshit. The OVERWHELMING majority of drug-related crime and death I've seen is opioid-related, and/or problems with drugs being laced with fentanyl and other substances.
