The chief of the Montgomery County police department says that most murders in the county are related to weed.
Specifically because it’s illegal. Legalize it and you’ll see drug related crime drop. I lived in Colorado. It didn’t smell like weed everywhere. Most people used edibles, tinctures, or vape. Like alcohol, marijuana has to be consumed responsibly. The tax benefits are huge for the state. Mississippi was one of the first states to decriminalize. And they are about to legalize it. Mississippi….perhaps the most conservative state in the nation.
Weed is a multi-billion dollar business. It’s happening.
Since you say you lived in Colorado, you may want to be more knowledgeable about what’s going on there. I would also add that Maryland is not Colorado and the beauty of this country is that it’s a big place that affords lots of choices. If you like Colorado, you are more than welcome to stay there.

Richard Kirk murdered his wife in 2014 and is speaking out from prison for the first time about the marijuana edible he says caused him to do it. Meanwhile, new research at one Colorado hospital sheds light on edibles and psychosis.
I call bullshit. The OVERWHELMING majority of drug-related crime and death I've seen is opioid-related, and/or problems with drugs being laced with fentanyl and other substances.

Yes, I know Maryland has a Republican Governor and isn’t the most progressive of all blue states, but marijuana legalization is hardly a radical position anymore. It’s uncharacteristically reactionary to be against it. So what’s the hold up? Who actually opposes legalization in Annapolis?
I am a liberal Democrat and I am against legalizing it. Marijuana is linked to many long-term health issues that have not been adequately studied. MD should not legalize.

Wish they would go ahead and legalize weed, create a legal distribution system and tax it. Put the weed dealers out of business, and then crack down on the heroin dealers.
Or, hear me out. If you want buy weed you can just go to DC or VA. No need for MD to be stupid too.
Anonymous wrote:DC is stinky? Sorry but DC is not a good example because its laws got broken by Congress before they could be fully implemented. You can't exactly walk into a store and buy edibles in DC.
Most of the people I know in places like Colorado and elsewhere that it's fully legalized either go for edibles (no smell) or can purchase good quality weed that doesn't smell like it was smuggled in a sweaty migrant's underwear and then stored under dead skunk carcasses for 2 years.
