So what happens next fall/winter when everyone’s vaccine has worn off and not everyone goes and gets a new one, and the latest variant is running rampant? (Hopefully that doesn’t happen but I have no faith that this thing is going to end anytime soon). It’s going to create a whole mess for universities. Can’t wait to try to run in person classes with students out sick or quarantining all the time, asking if they can attend via Zoom (no our classrooms are not outfitted for this) and make up work that can’t be easily recreated online. In person campus events will get cancelled too if a bunch of people are sick. Oh and then there’s the students who will no longer feel comfortable attending class but the university will tell us to “accommodate” then (with no explanation of what that means) so they don’t lose tuition money. I love when these decisions get made by people who don’t have to deal with the fallout. If in person education is so important (which I believe it is) maybe don’t make decisions that make it harder to do. [/quote]
