Got an email this morning that JMU will no longer require it.
Good. 92% of students there and 91% of employees have already been vaccinated. Same at UVA, etc.
An Omicron-specific booster is going to be needed by everyone in the fall or these colleges are going to have huge Covid outbreaks again. Glad my kid is graduating - fall 2020 at JMU was a disaster.
Meh. Most fully vaccinated and boosted people have had Omicron already. You're comparing apples to oranges.
Of the 6 vaxed and boosted people in our family (which includes 4 college and grad students), only 1 has had Omicron. So, no, that's not true. (A lot of people I know who I thought were boosted actually were not, and they admitted it after getting pretty sick with Omicron.)
+1. With a DS who's commuting to college in DC while living home with us in DC he's the most likely to get it as the rest of us are teleworking. We're all vaxxed and boosted. He gets tested every two weeks and the rest of us more sporadically. None of us have ever tested positive or had any symptoms.
