Parents/advocates fought against things like SRO's and metal detectors.  What exactly can MCPS do in terms of safety if people don't want more security and are demanding less.  What is MCPS supposed to do when many  parents are  checked out and don't  care?  What is MCPS supposed to do when there are no consequences, no discipline and all they  can do is give kids a talking to?  There are many  people to  blame here  and lets start with the parents.[/quote]

Parents don't vote on how the school is run. Reacting to Facebook groups full of whiny do-gooders with bad ideas isn't how you make policy.
