It’s crazy how much such a small group of people unreasonably hate Hogan. All just because he doesn’t have a D next to his name.
Correct. I hate him because he is a republican. I hate ALL republicans. Period. Not really sure why this perplexes people like you.
Wow - you waste all of that energy on hate? Be the change that you want to see and channel that energy differently. This is such a sad, depressing way to live.
DP- Hogan is one of the few republicans I don’t hate actually. That doesn’t mean I like him, he’s had his moments but really abdicated his leadership partway into the pandemic. But he’s not vile, which means his presidential ambitions are over even before they begin.
So how would he compare to the Biden administration? CDC literally recommended that people who are vaccinated could take masks off indoors last summer and one week later had to roll back that guidance as delta surged. FDA are literally responsible for dragging their feet on approving vaccines for 5-12 out of “equity” concerns to allow time for other countries to vaccinate their populations. FDA are also literally responsible for a significant portion of the vaccine hesitancy in this and other countries by unnecessarily halting and then restarting J&J deployment. And it’s obviously easy to compare to Montgomery County. Hogan had to intervene to shut down schools statewide in March 2020 as Montgomery County and it’s famous health officer were incapable of taking decisive action to save lives. And then he had to intervene again to overrule the famous county health officer who tried to unnecessarily keep private schools closed who could open and operate safely and they did. And he had to overrule MCPS and set mandates to require that they reopen for in person instruction or else they wouldn’t have. And let’s not even get into the county mask mandate business, which was stupid to flirt with changing it while omnicron was surging. Let’s not forget that the state mass vac sites were a huge success. The only stupid thing Hogan did was make a big deal out of buying all of those Korean COVID tests, which turned out to be a huge waste of money. Let’s be honest here, is there anyone who reasonably believes that Ben Jealous or Anthony Brown would have done a better job leading this state in COVID response than Hogan? Let’s not forget those were the alternative options.
