Because Hogan prefers putting his constituents safety and wellbeing at risk with subpar healthcare, in the hope that most of them won't realize they were at risk all this while, and vote for him for Senator, because they're just happy he didn't close anything and let them get on with their lives.

I loathe elected officials who gamble on their voters' stupidity.

But you voted for Biden. Lol.

Oh man you're clever.

I didn’t vote for him so yeah, actually I am.

Remember when he said in July during one of his many pressers to get vaccinated that if you got the vaccine you wouldn’t get Covid? That didn’t age well.

He was far from the only one who said something like that, and he likely got that line from someone who should have known better.

The CDC initially said that if you got vaccinated you didn’t need to wear a mask. That guidance lasted only a week or two and then the delta surge hit.

Correct. I hate him because he is a republican. I hate ALL republicans. Period.

Not really sure why this perplexes people like you.

Looks like Haters like you are in the minority when it comes to Hogan.
Biden and Harris are a different story......

Wow - you waste all of that energy on hate? Be the change that you want to see and channel that energy differently. This is such a sad, depressing way to live.

DP- Hogan is one of the few republicans I don’t hate actually. That doesn’t mean I like him, he’s had his moments but really abdicated his leadership partway into the pandemic. But he’s not vile, which means his presidential ambitions are over even before they begin.

I'm a lifelong Dem. My feelings about Hogan run the gamut, and on any given day might be anything from respect to loathing. He did a good job managing the pandemic at the beginning and I am grateful for that. On the other hand, at other crucial times, his boastful messages did not align with facts and were given at times when honestly could have saved lives. Examples of this came as he eased back restrictions last fall, painting a picture throughout the fall that he had successfully managed the state out of the pandemic when cases were actually rising. Rather than claiming credit for reduced cases, a true leader would have tried to keep cases low. Yesterday, watching his press conference, he noted that "we had been predicting a winter surge." He certainly wasn't speaking about it publically in a way that urged people to use extra caution as the weather turned colder.

Hogans COVID response “last fall” was no different than Federal guidance at the time or actions in other states considered “liberal bastions”, particularly California. What’s been going on in California is actually ten times worse. They ended state wide mask mandates in the summer and then reinstituted them in December and specifically exempted San Francisco. It’s crazy stuff.

How could us ordinary folks have known that there could be a surge in colds and flu once cold weather hit?

It’s not like that ever happened before!

So how would he compare to the Biden administration? CDC literally recommended that people who are vaccinated could take masks off indoors last summer and one week later had to roll back that guidance as delta surged. FDA are literally responsible for dragging their feet on approving vaccines for 5-12 out of “equity” concerns to allow time for other countries to vaccinate their populations. FDA are also literally responsible for a significant portion of the vaccine hesitancy in this and other countries by unnecessarily halting and then restarting J&J deployment.

And it’s obviously easy to compare to Montgomery County. Hogan had to intervene to shut down schools statewide in March 2020 as Montgomery County and it’s famous health officer were incapable of taking decisive action to save lives. And then he had to intervene again to overrule the famous county health officer who tried to unnecessarily keep private schools closed who could open and operate safely and they did. And he had to overrule MCPS and set mandates to require that they reopen for in person instruction or else they wouldn’t have. And let’s not even get into the county mask mandate business, which was stupid to flirt with changing it while omnicron was surging.

Let’s not forget that the state mass vac sites were a huge success. The only stupid thing Hogan did was make a big deal out of buying all of those Korean COVID tests, which turned out to be a huge waste of money.

Let’s be honest here, is there anyone who reasonably believes that Ben Jealous or Anthony Brown would have done a better job leading this state in COVID response than Hogan? Let’s not forget those were the alternative options.

And you feign shock when the sentiment is reversed. Shocker.
