Homeschooling actually requires work, and alerting the government that you've got a plan, etc. Homeschoolers may not do educational well (my understanding is that this varies widely), but at least they've got some intention to do something. Yes, homeschool might also be a mask for educational neglect or child abuse. But at least there is some initial measure of oversight there.[/quote]
