I don’t understand why they don’t just extend cell service to them? These parks sound horrible.
Because no one lives there. You choose to take a vacation in a remote uninhabitable location - its on you when the going gets tough. Maybe we should extend cell service to the Sahara Desert as well.
I don't mean to be a buzzkill here, but..... They actually are looking at adding cell towers and/or wifi to a lot of public lands, particularly around visitor centers and trail systems. In the middle of Death Valley or some BLM lands in Wyoming? Probably not, but the idea is that they want younger people who are blogging or live streaming to actually want to come to national parks or wildlife refuges and show them off on their social media. Your 15 year old is also much more likely to be happy about the trip to Yellowstone if he can text pics to his friends while he's there. Etc, etc. Granted, this was before COVID happened. Now that public lands, particularly out west, are absolutely flooded with people, they might try to dissuade folks from visiting. Back to the fiance- he totally killed her. Her poor mom.
