I am obese and I make sure that my face is always made up and my hair always looks good, for one thing. I buy expensive work clothes and have them tailored to fit. I have a uniform for casual clothes of things that I know look nice and I don't veer from him. I buy nice shoes. I know that I have to go an extra 200 miles because thin women are judging me harshly based on my size. Don't deny it, ladies, I know it's true.
OP here. This is my issue. DC just started an at expensive private school, and I don't fit in. I mean, I never will, but I'd rather not look sloppy in front of them.
I totally understand, OP, but I will say that in addition to looking nice, 95% of this is about your confidence. Go in with a smile, be outgoing, own it, and you will make friends! I was you and this past year I made a real effort to reach out to other moms and try to plan things for my very shy daughter, and I am naturally an outgoing person, so I let go of my hangups about my weight and was just myself. I made a couple of really good friends (one of whom is, seriously, a fitness influencer with thousands of followers on instagram).
