Im at catholic and want masks. I don’t think you have your finger on the pulse like you think you do. That said, my kids are in grades 5 and higher. Maybe younger kids’ families feel differently. [/quote]

My kids are the same age as yours, and I am in favor of mask optional.  Optional is a great approach because it allows each parent to do what's best for their child,  In the end, masking will have very little effect on spread in schools because 1) there are so many mitigations in place  at schools 2) as shown last year there is very little spread in schools  2) Masks are simply not proven to prevent virus from escaping or being inhaled its just the only thing we have for the unvaccinated that make us feel any kind of hope.

Masks can have other effects on children especially given that we are going into the 2nd full year of possible wearing them. This is not a short term solution at this point.

What other mitigation’s do you think schools are doing? I think you are misinformed. Most schools have a very loose interpretation of CDC guidelines (counting a whole grade of 60 kids as a single cohort, etc)[/quote]
