Agree.  renting a house on or near the water is gonna cost you about $8-10k per week in the peak summer weaks.  That's insane.  I'd much take that money and fly to the carribean or fly to europe!  I get driving and convenience but man, that is a tough pill to swallow![/quote]

Give it another 10-20 years and these prices will look like a bargain.  Unfortunately, it’s the best option for families coming from DC that can’t stomach a 7 hour car ride or fly with unvaccinated young kids.  [/quote]

The larger trend is housing being bought and being used by the owner, rather than remaining in the rental market.
