Zero truth to this. Players (up to 5 per team) on boys’ and girls’ side could get a scholarship as long as the team did concessions in one of the two Herndon tournaments. It wasn’t much. About $200-300 in fall and about same in spring. It had nothing to do with coaching fees.

Total Futbol on the girls’ side ran a fundraiser among TF teams and gave additional scholarship money to TF players.

On the boys’ side, coaches often rostered too many players who couldn’t pay even after the scholarship money and team fundraising (as in couldn’t pay anything) and then coaches would agree to take a pay cut when the team couldn’t come up with the money. [/quote]
