This was the point. I heard this is a source of tension as some have speculated that this move is to appropriate (and raise) girl's teams fees to fund the boy's "scholarships" and, thus, relieve the burden from boy's coaches and equalize pay. Let's face facts, the interest audience and demographic between boy's and girl's soccer is different. One glimpse of both gender's World Cup results reveal that.

Anonymous wrote:what about the "scholarships" HYS long offered/coerce TOH and locals boys? I heard this was a source of contention as the boy's coaches would take less $ to partially finance than girl's (including TF). On top of this, girl's parents were upset that their fees were higher to partially fund the "scholarships".

that might be the situation at Arrow...the "non-profit" status might give HYS the drop on TF since it's arbitrated by a public entity.

Anonymous wrote:HYS only paid (in part) for Bready. No dibs on Arrowbrook, Hutchison, etc. Anything beyond Bready depends on number of players in the club. Fairfax County determines who gets field space and when.
Anonymous wrote:I believe the local clubs pitched in on turf installation so they have first/exclusive rights? Since they are already tripling up in cramped fairfax co... I suppose TF has to try lease turf from some private entity or a high school where the field wasn't partially funded by a club. If I were a parent in this mess, that's my concern. Yeah, we stick with this DMV or TF, but then find out the practices are at Long Park or something.
i don't know about Arrowbrook, FFx Co. zoning extorted that homes developer into building Arrowbrook but I'm not sure if HYS partially paid for turfing. If I were TF, I'd look at Dominion and Park View HS. I don't think major clubs are operating in eastern Loudoun and if they can share with the high school teams.
Yes, we'll go with TF, then find out the practivces are at the complex in Haymarket or whatever.

The league they planned on playing in. Now they don't have a league
That sounds pretty ridiculous to be a club with top performing teams and they wouldn’t have a league, I seriously would doubt NCSL declining the offer to have top teams in their league of someone with the recognition that NM brings to the league. On the flip side, that probably isn’t their first choice anyway.
It is ridiculous and also untrue. This is just another rumor that the Herndon TD started. He has always been jealous of NM.
Hah. While I have no knowledge of this particular situation, this would be the classic oft-repeated reason for a youth soccer club imploding - petty jealousy. Oh - what hope is there for us?
What reason does Herndon need? TF might get a few kids the real joke will be when TF can't even field a team let alone a boys and girls club. Just becausw you have a few kids switching doesnt mean you can start a club. Herndon will get the last laugh
Pretty sad when too many people are focusing on the “Herndon/club getting the last laugh”. It is just more of an example that they do not have players or families in mind... that sounds exactly like the petty behavior that created this problem in the first place. Players deserve better than this and youth soccer needs to improve and remember who the focus “SHOULD” be.
