Separately, you pretty much just proved pp’s point that Mary Kadera is the favorite of the Arlington Democrats machine, and therefore she will never buck them.
Ok well I'll take that over electing APE crazy.
+1. Miranda is a single-issue grievance candidate, whose single issue will be largely moot long before she'd take office. At least Mary isn't myopically focused on just one thing to the exclusion of everything else. Mary actually seems interested in a lot of problems facing APS, and without regard to whether they can be used to push anyone's return-to-school agenda.
If Miranda wins she's going to be beholden to the APE crazies who all voted for her. That's going to be a real problem for APS. The APE group has the anti LGBTQ crowd, the school voucher crowd, lots and lots of Republican ties. And many of the ones who are Dems are DINOs.
This is a weird mischaracterization. Yes, there are APE members who are really vocal on their FB page who are super right-wing. There are also APE people who are super vocal on the FB page who appear to be right-leaning because this is Arlington and people clamber over one another to prove their wokeness. Keeping schools closed for the majority of 18 months is a gift from the heavens for school voucher people (and PLEASE don't tell me they were "open" bc we made tens of thousands of APS kids sit on iPads all day!). Regardless, I assure you that I know tons of APE people who are ultra-liberal. I am far from a DINO and I think schools should have been open this year.
